Apple Brie Grilled Cheese

This is one of my favorite grilled cheese recipes of all time. The combination of the warm and creamy brie, tart and crunchy apple, and the savory caramelized onion with hearty sourdough bread is an ideal pairing. I used Pazazz apples by Honeybear Brands in this recipe because it is crisp, tart, and stands up to the other flavors in the grilled cheese. #ad #pazazzapple

Ingredients

  • 1/2 caramelized Vidalia onion

  • Olive oil

  • Unsalted butter

  • 2 pieces of sourdough bread

  • 1 tsp fig jam

  • 5-6 slices of brie cheese

  • 1/2 medium Pazazz apple

Instructions

  1. Place pan with olive oil on medium-low heat and cook onions until caramelized

  2. Bring pan to medium heat, place butter in the pan, and place one slice of sourdough in the pan and another piece of sourdough with fig jam (plain side down)

  3. Place brie, apples, and caramelized onion on the plain piece of bread

  4. Flip the bread with fig jam on top of the stacked sandwich

  5. Cook in pan until both sides of the bread are golden brown and the cheese begins to melt
